Let me ask you a question: Can you imagine the holidays without food?
Unfortunately, that is the reality for many families this time of year. But we can all choose to do something about it.
The holiday season can be a time of sadness and disappointment for families in need, as things we take for granted such as hot meal and presents are simply out of reach. That is why Dovercourt Boys’ & Girls’ Club is collecting food and other supplies in the hopes of providing 400 families in Toronto with Christmas hampers this year.
This wonderful program is in its 7th year and couldn’t happen without the support of individuals, businesses and amazing volunteers in the community.
Want to help? Here are 3 ways.
1. Donate Time
Dovercourt Boys’ & Girls’ Club is looking for volunteers to help with assembling the hampers on December 21st, 22nd and 23rd.
2. Donate Stuff
They are interested in donations of:
Winter Accessories – New or gently used hats, mitts, gloves, and scarves
Bulk Food (they will also accept smaller donations as anything helps).
3. Donate Money
They are accepting monetary donations here. Rest assured that 100 percent of your personal or organization’s contributions are given to families and people needing your help.
If you’d like to participate in this great initiative reach out to Chantelle Boxill at firstname.lastname@example.org or 416-536-4102 ext. 202.
